A HOSPICE FOR CARLOW
Green Party Deputy Leader Mary White has welcomed an inaugural meeting to discuss the need for a hospice in Carlow on November 14th in the Seven Oaks at 8pm.
Deputy White said, “I have been in discussion with members of the Carlow Cancer Support Group to discuss the best way forward to develop a hospice for Carlow. While we understand that the HSE has outlined it’s strategy for palliative care in the South East which does not feature a hospice for Carlow or Kilkenny, many, many people have urged both myself and others to try and develop a hospice for Carlow. I fully support the wishes of people in Carlow Town and the surrounding district to lobby for such a service.
Deputy White said, “I want to encourage all in the Carlow area to come to this very important meeting to discuss the possibility of developing a hospice in Carlow. To support people suffering from cancer and their families, to provide a comprehensive palliative care aimed at relieving symptoms and giving social, emotional and spiritual support to patients. The meeting is open to the public and all are welcome”
