WHITE WELCOMES ELECTION DATE
Green Party Deputy Leader Cllr. Mary White today welcomed the date for the forthcoming General Election May 24 th and said
“I welcome the announcement that polling will take place on May 24th.
I look forward to the campaign and I promise the people of the constituency of Carlow/Kilkenny that I will not indulge in “slash and burn” campaigning. I will campaign honestly and fairly on the issues.
I believe that the people of this constituency want change; they are sick and tired of aggressive, hostile type politics. I will debate the issues such as health, transport, childcare, and biofuels so that people will know what the Green Party will deliver if the Party is elected to Government. This I believe is probably one of the most important elections of all times.
I believe that issues such as water and proper sewerage are worrying people and if we cannot get the basics right it is a poor legacy of one of the richest governments of all time.
I would like to wish all my fellow candidates a good campaign. I will not indulge in mud slinging. I am prepared to debate the issues play the ball and not the man or woman and I believe that Carlow/Kilkenny wants change and that change will come.
