Kilkenny Co. Council to put in a pedestrian crossing at Gowran National School

Green Party Deputy Leader Cllr. Mary White has welcomed the decision of Kilkenny Co. Council to put in a pedestrian crossing at Gowran National School. I welcome the investment of €22,000 for road safety measures which includes a much needed pedestrian crossing. I would like to congratulate all who campaigned so hard and effectively for this sensible measure.”

Cllr. White added, “On that cold November morning when I marched with the parents, school children. Members of the Board of Management I recognised the determination of all concerned to achieve a pedestrian crossing. Road safety is of paramount importance and with the ever increasing vehicular traffic, safety must come first. Both Cllr. Noonan and myself would like to congratulate the local committee for their hard work and dedication to protect the children and all road users in Gowran. The people of Gowran have spoken on behalf of their community and their voice has been heard at last by the Kilkenny County Council.”
