I agree with Joseph O’Connell (August15th) that the failure of the Government
and interested parties to establish a vibrant ethanol industry in Carlow and Mallow defies logic.
With the closure of the Carlow Sugar Factory a unique opportunity to establish an
indigenous fuel supply and strengthen our fuel security has been bypassed.
