Green Party Deputy leader Welcomes European Day of Parks

Green Party Deputy leader Cllr. Mary WHite today welcomed European Day of Parks
and calls on Local Authorities in Carlow and Kilkenny to protect the recreational amenity of Parks, broaden and enhance them and seek new areas of welcome green space for local people”

Cllr. White said,

” In this age of ever increasing consumer consumption, building aND erosion of green space I am calling on Local authorities to protect our parks on this European Day of Parks; ensure that they are safe place for people to enjoy their amenities and protect wild life, hedgerows and flower beds from vandalism and anti- social behaviour.”

Cllr. White added,
” Parks should be welcoming place for peace and relaxation and on this European Day of Parks, we should celebrate this”greenness” and ability in a busy, busy world to create oasis’ of peace and calming environments. I would like to call for extra playgrounds in our parks and areas of quiet for older people to that the Park space can be enjoyed by all”
